Shaker Kitchen Remodeling Project Austin / TX
This shaker kitchen remodeling project in the West Lake Hills part of Austin TX involved removing load bearing posts and installing a structural beam. This kitchen remodeling project was just part of a full house remodeling project that involved remodeling four bathrooms.

Here are a few pictures showing the removal of the load bearing wall. We had to install 3 LVLs with 2 flitch plates as directed by our structural engineer.

We also had to modify the stairs to give the kitchen room more space.

For the new kitchen layout we had to close in 2 of the windows. This required adding the exterior moisture barrier and masonry repairs.

We went to a few brick yards before finding a suitable brick for the home.

We also reframed the wall with 3 windows in order to install a sliding glass door.

Here are some interior pictures from the kitchen remodel showing the reframing of the window wall.

We made custom cabinets for this kitchen. Here are a few pictures.

We selected quartz countertops for the kitchen and top of the entertainment center.

We use layers when laying out any of our custom tile work, like this backsplash.

We also designed and made the custom cabinetry for the TV and entertainment center.
