Sunken Shower Bathroom Remodeling Project in Austin TX

About This Project

This sunken shower  / roman tub bathroom remodeling project was in the Zilker Park part of Austin TX.  I hadn’t installed a sunken shower for over 10 years.  The client was a screenwriter from California and wanted to sit on the step while he did his writing.  We used mosaic tiles and stones for all of the surfaces in the bathroom.  When installing mosaic tiles, all of the sub surfaces need to be perfectly flat or the mosaics will refract light highlighting the imperfections.  We went through great lengths to float out all of the surfaces below the mosaic.  We do all of our tile and stone installation in house.  I put ungrouted pictures up on this portfolio so that you can see how perfect the alignment is on this very complicated bathroom remodel. The grouted pictures are last.
