This Luxury Minimalist Modern Kitchen Remodeling Project is ongoing. It is actually in my own home. I wanted walnut European style cabinetry. I had seen a Matt Risinger video, on a Kitchen Remodeling project in Austin TX, which gave me the idea for the custom cabinet layout around the stove. This kitchen has panoramic views in all directions. I designed the L shaped bar layout to make sure we were always able to enjoy the views.
I used Fire Clay Tile for the backsplash. We wanted white acrylic coated plaster on level 5 drywall for the walls. We didn’t want the walls or flooring to take away from the Hill Country views. I plan on cladding the ceiling in wood in the future to add some warmth. We used Montauk Slate throughout the house and enhanced the stone in a mat sheen. I have always loved the look of Herman Miller Lights and used them for a Mid Century Modern Flair. All of the interior doors and trim are done in walnut as well. We custom milled the walnut for the foyer, you can see in the picture with the Cle’ Terrazzo tiles in the foyer.
We purchased the walnut dining room table and chairs at Copenhagen, I had the glass top made to protect the surface. Nest Modern used to have many 60’s reproductions, which is where I purchased the green chairs.
