Travertine Tub / Shower conversion in West Lake HIlls / Tx
This is a guest bathroom in a home here in West Lake Hills Tx / Austin Tx . With this particular remodeling project we removed a tub and installed a custom shower in this bathroom. This was going to be used by the homeowners parents when they came to visit.
We used crosscut travertine for the bathroom floor as well as the shower walls. We widened the shower as far as we possibly could. You can see we had to shave down the door casing on the left side. We used Emperador marble on the shower seat as well as the counter top (pictured below).
On the shower floor we used tumbled noce travertine 2 x 2’s to give it a bit of a rustic feel. The decco band is a brick pattern that has a few different types of marble. The Emperador marble in the banding ties in nicely with the seat. This was an excellent example of how we can convert your guest tub surround into a beautiful walk in shower.
