Travertine Walk in Shower in West Lake HIlls / Austin TX

80sf Travertine Walk in Shower Bathroom Remodel – Before
This is a bathroom remodeling project that we are finishing up in the West Lake Hills part of Austin TX. This home was originally a rental property for these homeowners. They decided to make this their primary residence and called Vintage Modern Design Build to help come up with some ideas for this bathroom remodeling project.
In the progress pictures below you can get an idea of what the original bathroom looked like. There was a bathtub in the middle of the room. The 4′ x 5- shower was centered on the back wall with weird benches in front of the windows on both sides of the shower. I suggested that we eliminate the tub and frame the plumbing wall and make a large walk in shower (This one ended up being 80 square feet). We ended up using these 16 x 16 Dore Select Travertine Tiles and we custom milled them into a rectangular shape for the shower.
Notice how the layout on the floor is matched up to the shower grout lines. We built these shaker style custom cabinets on both sides as well as removed soffits and installed symmetric can lighting above the vanities and in the shower.
The homeowner bought the star medallion and we centered it on the face of the plumbing wall. Scroll through the pictures below and check out this awe inspiring bathroom remodeling project in the West Lake Hills part of Austin Tx.
