Danish Modern Transitional Kitchen Remodeling Project in Austin Texas
This posting will highlight the kitchen remodeling aspect of a complete home renovation project we recently completed in Austin. This home was built back in the 60’s and the original kitchen didn’t even have a dishwasher. Floor to ceiling cabinets in the kitchen also separated the space from the living room. We gutted the entire home, but the kitchen underwent the most change in this remodeling project. We had to completely relocate most of the wiring in the kitchen. We went with shaker style cabinets and Quartz countertops. The backsplash adds a mid century modern touch. We moved the fridge and oven locations to the back wall. We had to run dedicated power for the range, dishwasher, and island.
We got rid of the old fluorescent light in the center of the kitchen ceiling. We created faux beams out of reclaimed wood. The floors are done in a Brown / Grey laminate. We painted the walls a warm grey and added two dark teal accent walls to break up the kitchen and living room space visually. We added recessed lighting throughout the kitchen, which we do in most of our kitchen remodeling projects in Austin Texas. We got rid of the old chandelier and added a Mid Century Modern fixture in the dining area. If you have a kitchen or remodeling project in the austin area, give us a call at 512-695-6913.
