Below- In addition to offering fire protection, sealing the electrical boxes with putty pads will stop the sound from being transferred through the outlets- Similar to having the string between 2 cups as a makeshift telephone – Sound will be transferred through the outlets
Below- These next 2 pictures show the installation of MAss Load Vinyl on the second floor of this structure. This is a great way to eliminate the sound coming up from below.
Below- The metal channel in the pictures below will stop the sound from telegraphing through the walls and ceiling. The metal resilient channel is installed with special clips to the studs and the drywall is installed to the metal channel. Each one of these measures adds to the amount of soundproofing the space will achieve.
